4th Game

Jag, Nutter & T                          Mayor Nutter

Entering into their fourth home game the Firebirds were looking forward to home field advantage and their die hard fans.  After two straight road trips against some tough competition the team was glad to be back home.  The game started with a truly special performance by Philadelphia’s own Jaguar Wright singing the National Anthem, which was then followed by the coin toss being performed by Philadelphia’s Mayor Michael Nutter. (click the pictures for bios)  The Mayor led the Firebirds captains on to the field, where the toss was won by the DC Diva’s, who elected to kick off to the Firebirds.  With the Mayor on the sidelines the ladies took the field, but on their second offensive play the ball was intercepted by the Diva’s who eventually went on to score.

As with previous games the Firebirds never gave up, this team is comprised of ladies that give it everything until the last second.  The next and final home game of the season will be played this Saturday as the Firebirds take on the Pittsburgh Passion, the game will be played at Benjamin Johnston Memorial Stadium, located on 1000 E. Sedgwick Avenue, Philadelphia, PA   19150, game time is 6:05.  Come on out and support your FIREBIRDS!
